Your First Visit

Attention MD is a virtual practice. Visits are conducted via Zoom for Healthcare, a secure video-conference application with end-to-end encryption that is free for attendees. Apple Facetime is an acceptable alternative. We have no plans to return to in-person visits.

Who should be present?

When possible, both parents should be present during a child evaluation.  Adults should strongly consider asking their spouse/significant other to accompany them.  Significant time is given to understand ADHD, and many patients and parents say that they wish their spouse or loved ones had been present.

If you (or your child) are currently taking ADHD medication, take it as prescribed on the day of the appointment. Dr. Mason prefers to evaluate current progress, not baseline function.

REMOTE COMPUTER ASSESSMENT

Approximately 1-2 months prior to your initial visit appointment, you will be emailed instructions to take a 20-minute remote computer assessment. If you (or your child) are currently taking ADHD medication, take it as prescribed on the day of the assessment. In most cases, computerized testing will evaluate current progress, not baseline function.

VIDEO PREPARATIONS

Interviews are done with the child present during the first 30 minutes. They may be excused if the parent discussion is uninteresting or inappropriate at that point.
